Desert Canyon: Almost centered in Washington state on the winding Columbia river, Desert Canyon Golf Resort was developed to showcase the unique geographical characteristics of the region. The course was designed by its Director of Golf, Jack Frei, who researched the desert courses of Arizona before attempting this wide-spread layout among the hills overlooking a dammed segment of the Columbia River, Lake Entiat. The opening nine is called the Lakes and the back is the Desert. Distances between holes can be extreme in this golf reserve, which allowed for less invasive use of the topography. Views throughout are spectacular. In 1999 the course was ranked as the 2nd best in Washington state and the par 5, 677 yard Sixth on the Desert course, Fifteenth overall, as the 7th best in the U.S., both by Golf Digest. The course from the back tees is rated 75.63 with a slope of 138. If the views don't get you, the course will!
Jack Hartt with help from some friends has created a challenging and scenic recreation for Links of Desert Canyon and it can be downloaded from Links Corner.
