Acrylic & Oil on Canvas
40 x 48"
This painting was inspired by my home town course in Lampasas, Texas where I grew up and graduated from High School. I played on the golf team my Sophomore and Junior years and at that time the course was only nine holes. When I passed through for a visit over 40 years later a second nine was being added. I walked the new and old nines and took pictures. I still love the way the course caresses the Sulfur Creek and the new nine fits well with the old. Here I eliminated referential colors and concentrated on creating a rhythm with the greens supported by after-images that bounce across the surface.
