Southern Hills C. C.: One of the all-time classic American courses, designed by the legendary Perry Maxwell, the Club opened in 1936 and has since hosted 13 major championships. Included among those events were 3 U.S. Opens, 3 PGA Championships and 2 Tour Championships. Retief Goosen won the last U.S. Open in 2001 in an 18 hole playoff over Mark Brooks. Previous U.S. Open winners include the colorful Tommy Bolt in 1958 and the crafty Hubert Green in 1977. PGA Champions there include Dave Stockton (1970), Raymond Floyd (1982) and Nick Price (1994). Prior to the 2001 Open the course was renovated and lengthened in 1999 by Keith Foster. Southern Hills is currently ranked among the top 50 courses in the world and was host to the PGA Championship again in 2007 won by Tiger Woods.
