The Moonah Course: The National Golf Club is located on the southern coast of Victoria's Mornington Penninsula and south of Melbourne, Australia. The Club has three courses, the newest of which is the Moonah Course which was designed by the Greg Norman Team and opened in the year 2000. The acreage was formerly farm land and the design team was blessed with wonderfully raw and rugged sand hills that rise and dip high above the southern Pacific Ocean. The course takes its name from the indigenous Moonah trees that sparsely dot the exposed hills. The course has received high accolades and has been favorably compared with the recently famous Sand Hills and Prairie Dunes in the United States. The Moonah Classic a Nationwide Tour event was held here in February of 2008.
